How to Request an identification number for a survivor of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in need

This service helps survivors of the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994 who need to be able to register and obtain a MINUBUMWE beneficiary identification number. The service is provided by the Ministry of National Unity & Civic Engagement (MINUBUMWE). 


The processing time is 5 days, and the service is free of charge.


Prerequisites:

  • Applicants without an Irembo account can not apply for this service or visit the nearest Irembo agent.

  • Applicants should have a valid phone number.

  • You must have signed a report from cell committee


Follow these simple steps to learn how to apply for this service


Step 1: Visit the Irembo platform at www.irembo.gov.rw, log in to your account, 


Step 2: Click on the “Request for an identification number for a survivor of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in need” service under the “Family category.



Step 3: Click "Apply" to start an application.



Step 4: Enter the applicant's details. The information will be displayed on the right side of the page.



Step 5: Fill in the information about where you survived the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi. Click "Next.” 


Step 6: Verify that all the information entered is correct, then check the confirmation box and click "Submit.”


Once the application is successfully submitted and approved, you will receive an application number (B2…), which you can use to download the certificate.
