How to apply for a Certificate of Needy Survivor of the Genocide Perpetrated against the Tusti in 1994

This service provides a certificate to survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The certificate serves as an essential document for survivors when applying for various forms of support and assistance offered by the Ministry of National Unity & Civic Engagement. (MINUBUMWE).


The processing time is 1 day, and the service is free of charge.


Prerequisites:

  • Applicants without an Irembo account can not apply for this service or visit the nearest Irembo Agent.

  • Applicants should be registered as needy genocide survivors with MINUBUMWE

  • Applicants should have a PIN number that identifies them as eligible recipients of MINUBUMWE support.

  • Applicants should have a valid phone number.



Follow these simple steps to apply for  a Certificate of  Needy Survivor of the Genocide Perpetrated against the Tusti in 1994


Step 1: Visit the Irembo platform at www.irembo.gov.rw, log in to your account, and click on the “Certificate Genocide Survivors” service under “Family.”



Step 2:Click "Apply" to start an application.


Step 3:Enter the applicant's details and click to retrieve the PIN number. Once the PIN is successfully retrieved, click "Next”.




 

Step 4: Verify that all the information entered is correct, then check the confirmation box and click "Submit.”



Once the application is successfully submitted, you will receive an application number (B2…), which you can use to download the certificate.
