FAQs about Busanza Automated testing site

This service allows applicants to register for a driving license test and evaluate their ability to drive a motor vehicle. 

The Busanza automated testing site will only support 5 categories: A, B, C, D, and D1, and the provisional driving test computer-based. 

The service is provided by the Rwanda National Police (RNP).


The following are the most frequently asked questions about the driving test:


1. How can I apply for the Automated Smart Examination on IremboGov?

To register for the driving test, follow these steps

Step 1visit www.irembo.gov.rw 

Step 2: Go Under police services, 

Step 3: Click on "Registration for a Driving License." and select the desired test.

Step 4: Enter your National ID number, 

Step 5: Fill in the registration details. 

Step 6:” Choose Busanza as your testing site” and fill in the requested information. For more information on how to apply, click here.


2. How much do I pay for a driving license test at the Busanza automated testing site? 

The price depends on the selected category.

3. Do I need an IremboGov account to apply for registration for a driving test?

Applicants with or without an Irembo account can apply for this service. However, to ensure the privacy of your information convenient access to your previously requested applications and notifications, we advise you to apply through an IremboGov account. To create one, click here.


4. What are the requirements needed to apply for registration for the driving test?

The applicant should have the following:


For a Provisional Driving License: A Rwandan national ID, a valid phone number, or an email address.


For Definitive Driving License: A Rwandan national ID, a valid provisional driving license number, a valid phone number, or an email address.


For Supplementary Driving License: A Rwandan national ID, a valid driving license number, a valid phone number, or an email address.


NB: Applicants with lost or expired driving licenses are not eligible to apply for this service.


5. Can I register for a driving test on USSD?

No, the registration for the driving test can only be applied via the Irembo website, www.irembo.gov.rw.


6. Is the automated testing site available in all districts across the country?

No! This automated testing site is only available in Kigali City, Kicukiro District, and Busanza testing site.

7. When does the billing number for the registration of the driving license expire?

The billing number expires in 8 hours, and the slot is released for other applicants to apply.


8. What happens next after paying for a driving test?

You will receive a confirmation message containing the registration code, test date & hour, test center, and test type/ test category. The applicant is advised to keep it safe, as it will be required on the test day.


9. I paid for a driving test registration but did not receive the registration code. What should I do?

You can contact support@irembo.com or call the Irembo toll-free number 9099 for assistance.


10. What should I do if I have lost my registration code and need to get it back?

To get your registration code if it is lost, dial *909# under police services, select the test code and follow the instructions.


11. If I have lost my National ID card, can I use a Certificate for Replacement of National Identification?

Certificates for Replacement of National Identification and passports are not eligible personal identification documents to take the driving tests. 

 


12. What driving license tests will be conducted at this site? 

The Busanza site will provide computer-based provisional, definitive, and supplementary driving license tests. 



13. What specific test categories will be available for definitive and supplementary driving license tests at the Busanza?

The Busanza site will only host the definitive license tests for A, B, C, D, and D1 categories. 


14. What should I do if I need to reschedule my test due to an emergency that prevents me from taking the test on the scheduled date? 

If you have any reason not to take your test on the scheduled date, please notify the Head of Examinations and Driver Licensing in advance, requesting a rescheduling, by sending an e-mail to commtl@police.gov.rw for assistance.


15. How long does it take to get my test results?

The result will be available to the candidate immediately after completing the test. 


16. How long does it take to receive your driving license after applying for it? 

After applying, a driving license will be issued within 14 days.
