This e-service allows users to register for Provisional Driving Tests and submit the application to Rwanda National Police (RNP). The purpose of the theory test is to test the person's knowledge on the rules and regulations of the road, traffic signs and signals. Applicants can choose to take the test in one of the 3 languages available; Kinyarwanda, English, or French. They can also choose among the two test modes; computer-based or paper-based.
The processing time of this service is 1 day and the price is Rwf 5,000. The billing number expires in 8 hours and the slot is released to other applicants when it is not paid for.
Note: This is a slot-based service whereby there is a limited number of slots available per day and the first to come is the first to be served. In case the slot of your choice is not found, you can choose another date that has available slots. Upon payment for the test registration, the applicant shall be allocated a test slot based on date and time of choice and test location.

Applicants should have a Rwandan national ID.
Applicants eligible for this service should be 16 years and above;
Applicants should have a valid phone number, email address, or both. It is not advisable to use other people’s phone numbers, as you might miss crucial notifications.
NB: Passports and certificates of national ID replacements are not eligible identification to sit for the provisional driving tests.
Follow these simple steps to register for a provisional driving test:
Visit Irembo platform: www.irembo.gov.rw and under Police, click on Registration for Driving Test.
Select “Registration for driving test -provisional paper based or computer based and click on Apply.
Enter the applicant details( the user’s national ID number). The user’s information will be displayed on the right- side of the screen.
Choose the user’s preferred language in which to take their exam and their preferred district.
The user can see available slots and filter by Date, Time Range, and Test center. Click “Next” after choosing a date.
Provide the user’s valid phone number and/or email address. Confirm the information provided by checking the verification box. Finally, click the submit button to complete the process.

NOTE: After applying and successfully paying on the user’s behalf via IremboGov, the applicant receives an SMS/Email approving their test date and center for the driving test. They will be required to be there, as stated.
