This service allows Rwandan citizens to renew their provisional driving licenses, which expire 1 year after the exam results are published. Renewal is only allowed at least 7 days before the license's expiration date
The service is provided by Rwanda National Police (RNP).
Key information before you apply
Applicants must have a national ID corresponding to the provisional driving license.
Applicants should have an expired provisional driving license (PDL). Note that when an expired PDL is lost, the applicant is advised to apply for renewal of PDL first, and when it is released, then the applicant can apply for a duplicate.
Follow these simple steps to renew your provisional driving test:
Visit www.irembo.gov.rw and under Police, click on Renewal of Driving Licenses.
Select which service you want: “Renewal of Provisional Driving License” and click on Apply.
Enter your Applicant Details (ID number) and Application Details (Provisional license number, expiry date, collection district, and pickup station). The applicant information is displayed on the right side of the page.
Click Next to proceed.
Note: You will receive this error message below if you apply with a valid provisional driving license.
Verify that the information is true, enter a phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click Submit.
A billing number/ID (88…) will be generated for paying.

NOTE: After applying and successfully paying via IremboGov, you will receive an SMS or email via IremboGov confirming your payment. You will then be able to download your renewed provisional driving license on IremboGov platform instantly.
