What are the requirements needed to apply for an E-passport replacement?

If the applicant is 16 years and above, they should have their national ID. However, if the applicant is below 16 years old, they can choose to use the child ID or no documentAlso, they should have a valid phone number, email address, or both.

What is the size of attachments allowed to be uploaded on IremboGov?

The size of attachments allowed is:

  • A photo with white background (Format: JPG, Size: 500KB) 

  • Signature (Format: JPG, Size: 500KB) 

  • Copy of national ID (Format: PDF, Size: 500KB) 

  • Application letter and other certificates (Format: PDF, Size: 500KB)

  • Certificate of loss issued by Rwanda Investigation Bureau (Format: PDF, Size: 500KB)

Do I need to pick up my E-passport from the collection office I chose during the application process? 

Yes, you will pick up the hard copy at the DGIE office or the Rwandan embassy. 

What is the processing time of an E-passport replacement?

The processing time is 4 working days

I lost my passport issued before 20 June 2022. Do I apply for a new e-passport?

No, you will apply for the e-passport replacement.
