This service allows individuals and companies to book and pay for a first motor vehicle inspection appointment, which includes both a technical inspection and emission testing in one visit.

The service is jointly provided by the Rwanda National Police for technical inspection and the Rwanda Environment Management Authority for emission inspection through IremboGov.
3. Who can apply for this service?
The service is available for:
Full electric vehicles applying for technical inspection
Cars whose technical and emission inspection certificates have expired
4. Can motorcycles apply for this service?
No. Motorcycles should apply through the emission testing service dedicated to motorcycles and vehicles with a valid technical inspection certificate.
5. What requirements are needed before applying?
Applicants must:
Have cleared all outstanding traffic fines
Have a vehicle plate number
Have a TIN
Companies must also have a company code
6. How often should vehicles undergo inspection?
Private vehicles: once a year
Commercial vehicles: twice a year
7. Where can emission testing be done?
Emission testing is available at the following inspection centers:
Remera
Rwamagana
Huye
Musanze
Ndera
8. How long does it take to process the application?
The appointment is confirmed instantly after successful payment.
9. How much does the service cost?
The fees depend on the vehicle category and are displayed during the application process.
10. What happens after submitting the application?
After payment:
You receive an SMS or email confirming the appointment date, time, and inspection center.
You must present the vehicle at the selected inspection center on the scheduled date with the payment confirmation message.
12. What happens if my vehicle fails the technical inspection?
You must apply for the Motor Vehicle Technical Testing Second Visit Appointment. If the second visit is booked within 14 days, you pay only 20% of the first visit fee.
13. What happens if my vehicle fails the emission inspection?
You must apply for the Motor Vehicle Emission Testing Second Visit Appointment. If the second visit is booked within 14 days, you pay only 50% of the first visit fee.
14. What happens if I exceed 14 days after failing the inspection?
You will be required to pay the full inspection fee again.
15. How long is the billing number valid?
The billing number expires after one hour if payment is not completed.
16. What do I receive after passing the inspection?
Applicants receive the certificate at the inspection center after successfully passing the inspections and can download the emission certificate from IremboGov.
