This article provides information on how to check and pay for traffic fines using the plate number with the corresponding TIN or ticket number. The ticket number is issued to a driver who has violated traffic and road safety laws. Applicants can pay for one or more tickets depending on how much money they have. The service is provided by Rwanda National Police (RNP).

How to Check Traffic Fines
Applicants can either check their traffic fines or check and proceed to pay them. This part illustrates how you can check whether or not you have traffic fines.
Prerequisites:
Applicants should have a TIN that corresponds to their plate number.
Follow these simple steps to check traffic fines:
1. Visit www.irembo.gov.rw and under Police, click on Traffic Fines.
2. Click on Apply.
3. Enter your Plate Number with TIN (TIN is found on the logbook/carte jaune) and click the search button. If the applicant has been fined, a list of the fines will appear.
How to Pay Traffic Fines
This part shows how an applicant can pay for traffic fines using the plate number and its corresponding TIN, or the ticket number. The ticket number is issued to a driver who has violated traffic and road safety laws. Applicants can pay for one or more tickets depending on how much money they have.
The processing time is 1 day and the price depends on the case.
Prerequisites:
Applicants should have a TIN that corresponds to their plate number.
Applicants should have a ticket number.
Applicant should have a valid phone number, email address, or both.
After checking the fines, they can proceed to do the following:
4. To pay, an applicant can either enter their Plate number with TIN (TIN is found on the logbook/carte jaune) or the Ticket number and should select the fines they want to pay (all or some).
5. Click on Next to proceed.

7. Verify that the information is true, enter a phone number and/or email address, check the verification box, and click Submit.
8. A billing number/ID (99…or 98…) will be generated for payment. Applicants can pay using MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, BK App, BK Branches, BK Agents, or pay online using VISA or MasterCard.
NOTE:
1. Applicants can alternatively use MTN MoMo to instantly pay for their traffic fines. If the phone number entered is valid, a pop-up window will appear prompting the applicant to approve the money withdrawal. The phone number should have an active MTN MoMo account.
2. After paying successfully via IremboGov, the user receives a payment notification and the selected fine(s) are no longer linked to the vehicle/motorcycle.
